2009 – 2010
The PTA has raised approximately £17,000 during the school year of 2009 – 2010. This money was raised at this long list of events throughout the year.
This financial support is always much needed and appreciated by the school and has been spent on necessary and essential equipment, enhancing the children’s school lives.
For 2009 -2010 we’ve been able to make the following purchases for the school:
- Leavers Books for years 6 & PA system
- Equipment for all year groups
- Four laptops
- Christmas parties & Presents for all children
- Solar film installation (5T, 6B and 6F)
- Replacement outdoor equipment
- Replacement shed and base
- Sports day Awards
- Contribution to school trips
- PE equipment
- Contribution to ICT hardware
2008 – 2009
Last year the PTA along with parents and volunteers managed to raise sufficient funds to buy further interactive whiteboards.
In total you have contributed over £17,000 towards the whiteboards. They are fully fitted and operational now and the children are directly benefiting from our fundraising. Thanks to you all for your continued support.
In addition we purchased a projector, a PA system, books for the library, books for our year 6 leavers, bark for the fitness trail, chairs for the ICT Suite and Solarfilms for the windows in the newer classrooms.
We also helped to fund improvements to Reception and equipment for the year groups (from cake sales). In addition we funded all the Christmas parties that took place in school last year.
We would like to thank the committee, parents, and friends of the school for their continuing support. Funds raised, and the time given so generously make a enormous difference to the school and really benefit the children.
2007 – 2008
We raised over £12000 to deploy interactive whiteboards in Y4, 5 and 6. These are large touch sensitive screens that can display information from a computer and allow the teacher to control the display through the board itself.
Children find the interactive whiteboards very engaging, which increases their engagement and motivation. Staff and children have been very enthusiastic about the benefits these bring to teaching and learning.
Other recent contributions include:
- A CD recorder and duplicator for the Music Room;
- Awnings to shade reception children in summer;
- The climbing frame net on the Fitness Trail;
- £3000 has been spent on new sheds to store play equipment;
- Significant sums have been spent for the ongoing purchase of new books for the library.
In addition to the material contributions, the PTA provides fun social events for the children like the Easter Egg Hunt, the Film Night, the school Disco, and donate presents and prizes for the KS1 and KS2 Christmas parties.
For adults, the PTA have organised the hugely successful and enjoyable Christmas Shopping evenings, the Summer Ball, Race Night, and Quizzes.
